Hi all!
A fellow UT student has asked SPJ to view and respond to her PowerPoint presentation about the death penalty and the media.
Thanks! I know she appreciates it!

Interviewing the families is not always an option in these cases. Granted, they should at some point be talked to, but in the case of breaking news, you must publish as much information as you can get by deadline.
The cost of writing two stories in also simply not an option for some papers theses days.
In this case, I think interviewing the family would make a great narrative feature or profile.
As for mental illness, my question is why on earth was he untreated for schizophrenia? That would be a big point to hit up in a feature and in the news story. He would have to be diagnosed for it to be a fact though. Was he diagnosed?
